Glenglassaugh 12 Year Old is an unpeated Highland single malt bottled at 45% ABV. The distillery was founded in 1875 and brought back into production in 2008.
The whisky was matured for 12 years in a mix of bourbon, sherry and Spanish red wine casks.
The nose offers ripe apricot and fig, toasted vanilla and tropical flowers, with a salty hint of sea air. On the palate come candied pistachio, date, sweet fig, morello cherry and cream, with a subtle maritime freshness. The finish is soft, fruity and lightly iodine.
