Glenglassaugh 49 Year Old is a single malt Scotch whisky from the Serpentine Coastal Cask Collection, bottled at 42% in a 75cl bottle. It was matured in a bourbon barrel, and the colour is described as medallion gold.
The collection comes from casks found in the distillery's coastal warehouses when it reopened in 2008, after closing for almost twenty years. Master Blender Rachel Barrie chose each cask in the collection.
The nose is an exotic fruit mix of guava, white peach and coconut cream, with a gorse-scented sea breeze. The palate brings papaya, passion fruit and guava.
