Glenglassaugh – Portsoy (75cl, 49.1%)

Glenglassaugh Portsoy is a peated Highland single malt from the Glenglassaugh distillery on the North Sea coast, bottled at 49.1% ABV. It was one of the three core single malts launched in summer 2023, with master blender Rachel Barrie behind the maturation. Coastal peat smoke sits over the distillery's maritime character, and the whisky was matured in sherry, bourbon and port casks. The port casks add a dark-fruit note beneath the smoke. The nose is tropical fruit and sherried dark soy, rolling into port, liquorice and sea kelp. On the palate it is full-bodied, with dark chocolate, fermented soy, charred mango, treacle and sea salt. The finish brings maritime peat smoke, peppery oak, cinnamon and leather.
