A Glenglassaugh single malt named after Portsoy, the harbour town next to the distillery, which inspired its deep maritime character. It is richly smoky, matured in sherry, bourbon and port casks, and bottled at 49.1% ABV.
The colour is deep amber. The nose opens with maritime notes of tropical fruit and a delicate hint of soy from the sherry cask, then liquorice-like port notes and finally seaweed. The palate is full, with dark chocolate, fermented soy, charred mango with syrup and a touch of sea salt.
