Glenglassaugh Revival was the first release from the distillery after it had been mothballed for more than 20 years. It is a Highland single malt, bottled at 46%, non-chill filtered and of natural colour.
The whisky was matured in a mix of ex-red wine and fresh bourbon casks, then vatted and re-racked into rich sherry casks for a second maturation.
It is copper in colour. The nose offers caramel, toffee, nutty sherry, plums and oranges, while the palate is sweet and creamy with walnuts, chocolate and honey. The finish is medium, with warming mulled-wine spices.
