Glengoyne – 12 Year Old Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky (75cl)

Glengoyne 12 Year Old is a Highland single malt from the distillery at Dumgoyne, about 15 miles north of Glasgow, which has made whisky since 1833. The stills stand on the Highland side of the Highland Line, and the warehouses sit across the road in the Lowlands. The barley is dried with warm air rather than peat smoke. The whisky matures in first-fill sherry and first-fill bourbon casks of European and American oak, with bourbon wood making up roughly a quarter. It is chill-filtered, and the colour is natural. The texture is soft and silky. On the finish the sherry becomes more prominent, with berry jam and fruit juice, fading to hazelnuts without bitterness.
