Glengoyne – 12 Year (75cl, 43%)

Glengoyne 12 Year is a Highland single malt Scotch whisky, bottled at 43% in a 750ml bottle. It comes from a distillery that runs what is described as the slowest distillation in Scotland, using only Golden Promise barley that is air-dried rather than dried over peat smoke. The distillery sits at the foot of Dumgoyne hill on the Highland Line, with distilling in the Highlands and maturation just across the boundary in the Lowlands. The nose is toffee apple, acacia honey and nectarine in syrup, with baking spice. The palate is soft and honeyed, with green apple, vanilla, coconut milk and cinnamon. The finish is long and oily, with coffee, peanut butter and ginger warmth.
