This is a 21-year-old Highland single malt from Glengoyne, bottled at 43% in a 75cl bottle. It was matured in sherry-seasoned oak casks and carries a Double Gold from the 2018 San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
Glengoyne has distilled at Dumgoyne since 1833, using unpeated Golden Promise barley and a slow distillation. The 21 Year Old spends its whole maturation in European oak sherry casks.
The nose brings dried fruit, honey, red apple and blackberry jam, with cinnamon and dark chocolate beneath. On the palate there is toffee, fruit cake and baked spice, and the finish is long, dry and spiced with raisins and figs.
