Glengoyne – 25 Year Old (75cl, 48%)

Glengoyne 25 Year Old is an unpeated Highland single malt, bottled at 48% in a 75cl bottle. It was matured for 25 years exclusively in hand-selected sherry casks at Glengoyne Distillery. The barley is dried by air rather than peat smoke, so the character comes from the sherry casks and the long maturation. It comes in a bespoke bottle with a metal stopper, inside an oak display box. The nose is red fruits, old leather and brown sugar. The palate has soft oak, cinnamon, stewed fruits and a Seville marmalade tang, and the finish is very long, with spicy liquorice that dries slowly.
