Glengoyne – 30 Year Old (75cl, 46.8%)

Glengoyne 30 Year Old is a single malt Scotch matured for thirty years in sherry oak and bottled at 46.8% ABV. It is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour. One third of the whisky comes from first-fill European oak sherry butts, the rest from refill Oloroso butts. The malt master selects thirteen casks for each annual release, which yields roughly 5,200 bottles. The nose is described as black cherry, sherry trifle, marmalade and tea rose. On the palate, sweetness turns to plum compote, cinnamon, cloves and tangy marmalade, and the finish is long and velvety, with drying oak spice and candied orange peel.
