This is a cask strength single malt from Glengoyne in the Highlands, bottled in 2022 at 59.6% in a 70cl bottle. It is amber in colour, non-chill-filtered and has no added colouring.
Batch 009 is made up of one third first-fill Oloroso sherry casks and two thirds refill casks, with a few bourbon barrels.
The nose brings baked lemon, sticky toffee pudding, malt biscuits, plum, hazelnut and a touch of savoury apple. The palate is weighty, with rich vanilla and fresh fruit that move towards poached pears with cinnamon and a little honey. The finish is long, with Medjool dates, apricot, toffee and honey.
