Glengoyne Cask Strength Batch 8 is a Highland single malt in a 70cl bottle, bottled at its natural cask strength of 59.2% ABV. It is non-chill filtered and has no added colouring.
This eighth batch is vatted from about 29% first-fill sherry casks, 16% first-fill bourbon barrels and 55% refill oak. Glengoyne is known as the slowest distillery in Scotland.
Tasting notes describe an amber-gold whisky. The nose offers apple pie, peach, vanilla, nutmeg and white chocolate over malt. The palate is thick and buttery, with toffee, caramel popcorn, banana, soft oak and fruit. The long finish brings summer fruits, digestive biscuit and kiwi, with a peppery tingle.
