Glengoyne – Teapot Dram Batch 12 (59.2%)

This is Batch No. 12 of the Glengoyne Teapot Dram series, a single malt bottled at a cask strength of 59.2% ABV. It was matured entirely in first-fill European oak casks. The series recalls a Glengoyne custom from the 1960s and early 1970s, when distillery workers received three drams a day. Younger employees sometimes poured theirs into a copper teapot on the canteen windowsill for more experienced colleagues. The practice ended in 1974. The tasting notes describe toasted marshmallow, cinnamon and toffee popcorn on the nose, then raspberry compote, blackcurrants and baked apples on the palate, finishing long with stewed dark berries and sticky toffee sauce.
