Kilkerran 12 Year Old is the single malt from the Glengyle distillery. Glengyle closed in 1925 and was reopened in the 2000s by the Mitchell family. Glengyle is also the name of a vatted malt brand, which is why the single malt carries the Kilkerran name.
The nose is powerful, mineral and lemony, with light peat and medicinal notes. The palate is smooth and soft, with soot, smoke and leather, then lemon, eucalyptus and aniseed. The finish is long and intense, salty and peppery, with lingering smoke, ash and lemon.
