Glengyle – Kilkerran Heavily Peated Batch 7 (59.1%)

Kilkerran Heavily Peated Batch 7 is a Campbeltown single malt made at Glengyle, one of the few distilleries still working in the town. Glengyle's single malts are sold under the Kilkerran name. It was matured in 90% ex-bourbon casks and 10% sherry casks, then bottled at a cask strength of 59.1%, unfiltered and with its natural colour. Pine and damp gooseberry bushes mark the nose. Peat smoke comes forward on the palate, with toasted marshmallow, lemon crumble and shortbread. The finish is sweet peat with a salty edge.
