This is a 15-year-old Speyside single malt Scotch whisky from Glenlivet, bottled at 40% in a 750ml bottle. Part of the spirit is matured in French Limousin oak, the wood traditionally used for cognac, from France's Dordogne region. It is then married with spirit aged in traditional oak.
The nose is floral buttercream with roasting almonds, ripe stone fruit, cinnamon and sweet apple. The palate moves from peaches and cream to honeyed pear and buttery almond, with Chardonnay-like oak, brown sugar and a flash of orange zest. The finish is medium in length, with a spicy bite from the Limousin oak and lingering toasted nut sweetness.
