Glenlivet 18 Year Old is a Speyside single malt bottled by the distillery, in a 70cl bottle at 40% ABV. Master Distiller Alan Winchester takes it through a combination of casks: first- and second-fill American oak, which brings tropical fruitiness, and ex-sherry oak, which adds spice.
The nose is ripe apples, dried apricots and hints of blackberry, with cinnamon and clove warmth and a subtle toasted oak. The palate has butterscotch, toasted almonds and honeyed pears in a creamy, silky texture. The finish is medium-long and warming, with sweet spice and rich vanilla.
