This is a 45 year old Glenlivet from a single refill sherry hogshead, cask number 21602601. It was distilled on 30 January 1976 and bottled by Gordon & MacPhail for its Private Collection on 15 November 2021.
The cask gave 266 bottles, each 70cl at a natural cask strength of 43.1%. The whisky has no added colour and is non-chill-filtered. The ribbed bottle comes in an oak presentation box with a certificate.
The nose opens with sweet citrus, rich fruit cake and butterscotch, with cinnamon, ginger, light liquorice and oak. The palate moves from soft tobacco to bold raisins and white pepper, alongside stewed fruit, walnut and plum. The finish is long, with roasted nuts and fresh garden mint.
