This is a 43-year-old single malt from Glenlivet, the distillery near Ballindalloch in Moray whose lantern-shaped stills were designed by its founder, George Smith. The whisky was laid down on 30 August 1978 and bottled on 9 December 2021 by Gordon & MacPhail for its Private Collection.
It matured in a refill sherry hogshead, cask 9044402, and was bottled at 54.3% ABV. The outturn was 310 bottles, each a 70cl bottle.
