Glenlochy – 1979/2023 Gordon & MacPhail Private Collection Refill American Hogshead #3309

This single cask Glenlochy was distilled on 15 November 1979 and matured for 43 years in a refill American hogshead, cask number 3309. Gordon & MacPhail bottled it in January 2023 for its Private Collection, filling 141 bottles. Glenlochy has since closed, and the whisky comes in a wooden case with geometric engraving. The nose combines grass with fine chocolate and a hint of sea salt. On the palate, smoky grass meets caramel sweetness and a firm oak spice. The finish is maritime, fading into soft chocolate.
