This is a 44-year-old single malt from Glenlochy, distilled in 1979 and matured in a refill American oak hogshead. Gordon & MacPhail bottled it from cask 3312 on 19 June 2024 at a cask strength of 53.2%, filling 124 bottles for the third Recollection Series of its Private Collection. It is not chill-filtered and has no added colour. The whisky comes from the last years of production at Glenlochy, which closed in 1983. The nose opens with orange oil, pressed apples and a little ginger, alongside dried mango, honeycomb and beeswax polish. The palate offers pineapple, banana and lemonade, moving to stewed strawberries, vanilla fudge and pecan. The finish is full and smooth, with toasted almonds and oak.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
