This is a 16 year old Glenlossie single malt, distilled in 2009 and finished in a first-fill Oloroso butt. It is bottled by James Eadie at 52.4%, at natural colour and without chill filtration.
It belongs to a range James Eadie launched to mark the rediscovery of a book, and the label carries artwork by illustrator Greg Coulton, based on century-old photographs.
The nose offers jelly beans, cola sweets and summer pudding, with softer floral notes of cinnamon and roasted cardamom. The palate is fresh and zesty, with summer fruits, red apples, figs, cloves, orange peel and sultanas. The finish is thick strawberry jam with a touch of crushed black pepper.
