Glenmorangie Calvados Cask Finish is a 12-year-old Highland single malt at 46% ABV, in a 75cl bottle. It is the fifth release in the Barrel Select series of small-batch cask finishes, and the distillery's first Calvados finish. It is bottled non chill-filtered.
The whisky spent more than ten years in American white-oak bourbon casks before moving to casks that had held Calvados du Pays d'Auge, an apple brandy from Normandy, for 20 years.
The nose is baked apples and pears with jasmine, narcissus, vanilla, heather honey and sweet pastry. The palate is soft and rich, with toffee apple, almond marzipan, star anise and chocolate praline. The finish is long and slightly cooling.
