Glenmorangie 12 Year Old The Original is a Highland single malt from the distillery at Tain, bottled at 40% ABV. It replaced the earlier 10-year-old Original, with the longer ageing adding maturity and body.
It is matured entirely in ex-bourbon American oak casks.
The nose is fresh citrus of orange and lemon peel, with ripe peach, floral notes, honeyed malt and cream. The palate brings vanilla, crème fraîche, apple, pear, apricot and peach, with soft spice. The finish is gentle and clean, with lingering fruit, honey and a touch of oak spice.
