Glenmorangie – 18 Year Old Extremely Rare (70cl, 43%)

Glenmorangie 18 Year Old Extremely Rare is a Highland single malt from the distillery's Prestige Range, bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. It matured in two stages. Most of the whisky spent fifteen years in ex-bourbon casks, while a portion, 30% of the casks, was finished for the final three years in Oloroso sherry casks before the two were reunited. The result is a thick, creamy and fruity whisky. The nose is creamy and tangy, with citrus, cinnamon, stewed fruits and caramel pannacotta. The palate brings nectarines in yoghurt, acacia honey, peaches in cream and butterscotch. The finish is tangy oak and grilled grapefruit with caramelised dark sugar.
