Glenmorangie – 24 Year Old Single Malt Cask No. 0004 (75cl)

This is a 24 year old Highland single malt from Glenmorangie, drawn from Cask No. 0004 and selected by Dr Bill Lumsden. The spirit was distilled on 6 May 1997. It spent ten years in American oak bourbon casks, then a further 13 years finishing in French oak casks, whose tannic character contrasts with the soft spirit. The colour is deep amber. The nose is fruity, with mango, melon, pineapple and orange, followed by sandalwood and clove oil. The palate sets oaky dryness and white pepper against mouthcoating fruit and honeycomb. Berries, vanilla and Brazil nuts lead into an oaky finish.
