Glenmorangie – A Tale of Spices Limited Edition (70cl, 46%)

A Tale of Spices is a limited edition Highland single malt from Glenmorangie, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It takes its inspiration from the variety of colourful spice markets, with sweet spice and floral notes at its centre. Dr Bill Lumsden and Master Blender Gillian Macdonald matured the whisky first in bourbon casks, then finished it in four cask types for the first time: Moroccan red wine casks of French oak, a first for Glenmorangie, freshly charred oak, scraped and toasted red wine casks, and Pedro Ximenez sherry casks. The nose runs from rose and jasmine to cumin, saffron, nutmeg, ginger and aniseed, with sweet almond and a pronounced eucalyptus freshness.
