A Tale of Winter is a limited edition single malt from Glenmorangie, released in the UK in 2021. It follows A Tale of Cake as a concept whisky, and comes in a knitted-sweater pattern design.
Bill Lumsden used single malt matured in ex-bourbon casks for more than 13 years, then finished it in Sicilian Marsala wine casks. The bottling strength is 46% ABV, in a 70cl bottle.
The nose brings cinnamon and nutmeg over ginger snaps, with hints of orange cake and boiled sweets. The palate is full-bodied and spiced, with ginger beer and fruit cake, leading to a drying finish with lasting warming spices.
