Glenmorangie – Allta Private Edition Single Malt Scotch Whisky (70cl)

Glenmorangie Allta is a Private Edition single malt in a 70cl bottle, released for the tenth anniversary of the Private Edition series. It is the first Glenmorangie made with the wild yeast found on the Cadboll barley grown at the distillery. Dr Bill Lumsden found the yeast, a species not identified before, while walking the barley fields near the distillery, and set out to use it in a creamy, aromatic whisky. It was aged in bourbon barrels, many of them second-fill, to show the spirit's fruity character. Allta is Scots Gaelic for wild.
