Glenmorangie – Extremely Rare 18 Year Old (43%)

Glenmorangie Extremely Rare 18 Year Old is a Highlands single malt from Scotland, part of the distillery's Prestige Range and bottled at 43% ABV (86 proof). It spent its first 15 years in American white oak bourbon casks. After that, 30% of the whisky was moved to Oloroso sherry casks for its final period, while the rest stayed in bourbon casks. The two parts were reunited after 18 years in total. Tasting notes describe layers of honey, flowers and light toffee on the nose. The palate opens dry, turns bittersweet, then shows burnt apple crisp, orange zest, fudge and candied nuts. The finish is grand and stately.
