This is Glenmorangie Grand Vintage 1996, a Highland single malt from the distillery's Bond House No. 1 Collection, bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle.
It matured for 23 years, entirely in bespoke Ozark American white oak bourbon casks, which gave it a golden colour.
The nose is fresh and perfumed, with rose, carnation and jasmine, coriander, mandarin and pear. The palate is zesty, with orange, lemon, vanilla and fudge, then ginger, sweet chilli and oak. The finish is delicate, with cake mix, almonds and pear.
