Glenmorangie Grand Vintage Malt 1997 is a 23-year-old Highland single malt, distilled in 1997 and bottled on 16 March 2021 at 43% ABV. It is the seventh release in the Bond House No. 1 Collection, limited to 10,100 bottles, and it is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour.
It is the first Glenmorangie finished in red wine casks from Château Montrose in Saint-Estèphe, Bordeaux. The whisky matured in ex-bourbon casks and was then married with the Montrose parcels and ex-Oloroso sherry parcels.
The nose is vibrant and floral, with Glenmorangie's classic citrus. The palate offers red fruits and candied sweets, and the finish is long, delicate and complex.
