Glenmorangie – Lasanta 12 Year Old (70cl, 43%)

Glenmorangie Lasanta is a 12 year old Highland single malt, bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. It is non-chill-filtered, which the distillery says adds to the aroma and mouthfeel. The whisky spends its first 10 years in American white oak ex-Bourbon casks, then a further 2 years in ex-Oloroso sherry casks. Oloroso is a fuller, richer style of sherry, usually spicy and nutty, with walnut and caramel notes. The name Lasanta is Gaelic for warmth and passion. It points to the Spanish origin of the sherry butts and to the soft texture and deep, sweet aromas of the whisky.
