Glenmorangie Milsean is the seventh Private Edition from Glenmorangie, a single malt with a copper beech colour. Dr Bill Lumsden set out to bring forward the sweeter notes of Glenmorangie Original, taking his inspiration from traditional Scottish sweetshops.
The whisky was finished in former Portuguese red wine casks, which were shipped to Scotland and re-toasted over live flame to deepen their sugars and add sweetness and piquancy.
The nose offers sugar cane, sherbet, coconut, ripe melon and citrus. The palate is buttery, with tingling spice, honey, plums, candied orange peel and cherries. The finish is long and spicy, with ginger, brown sugar and sweet tobacco.
