Glenmorangie Nectar d'Or is a 12-year-old Highland single malt, bottled at 46% in a 750ml bottle. It spent ten years in American white oak ex-bourbon casks before further maturation in hand-selected Sauternes wine barriques. It is bottled non-chill-filtered.
The spirit is distilled at Tain in tall copper pot stills, by the Sixteen Men of Tain, using water from the Tarlogie Spring.
The nose is lemon tart with vanilla pods, lime and orange zest, sultanas and dates with ginger, coconut and a hint of toasted oak. The palate is crème caramel and gingerbread with nutmeg, toasted almonds, meringue and honeycomb. The finish is sweet and mellow, with lemon zest, vanilla cream and a trace of ginger and nutmeg.
