The whisky was matured entirely in American ex-rye whiskey casks, a release designed to explore what rye cask maturation does to the distillery's Highland spirit.
Tasting notes describe bright orchard fruit and vanilla layered with cinnamon, clove and peppery rye spice. The body is medium and the finish dry and spicy.
