An 18-year-old Highland single malt from Glenmorangie in Tain, bottled at 43% ABV. It is matured in two stages. The whisky spends 15 years in American white oak ex-bourbon casks, then about 30% of it moves to Oloroso sherry casks for three more years before being married back with the bourbon-matured portion.
Jasmine, lemon blossom, honey and caramelised orange peel lead the nose. The palate brings figs, orange marmalade, clove, black pepper, mandarin and peach, with a little smoke. The finish is long, with floral notes, figs, marmalade, sultana and toasted oak.
