Glenmorangie The Nectar is a 16 year old Highland single malt in a 750ml bottle, created by Dr Bill Lumsden as a successor to The Nectar D'Or.
The whisky spent 14 years in bourbon casks, then two more years finished in sweet white wine casks: Sauternes and Monbazillac from France, Moscatel from Spain and Tokaji from Hungary.
The Sauternes and Monbazillac casks bring pastry, brioche, meringue and baked apple. Moscatel adds sweet, syrupy, dessert-like notes, and Tokaji contributes white chocolate, almond and honeycomb.
