Glenmorangie – The Nectar D'Or Sauternes Cask Finish

This is a Highland single malt from Glenmorangie, a distillery founded by William Matheson in 1843 on the banks of the Dornoch Firth. The Nectar D'Or is finished in Sauternes casks. The nose combines lime and orange rind with sultanas and dates, laced with coconut and nutmeg. On the palate, ginger, nutmeg and toasted almonds sit around a syrupy middle of lemon meringue and honeycomb. The finish is long and sweet, with lemon zest, white chocolate, vanilla and traces of ginger and nutmeg.
