Glenmorangie The Quinta Ruban 12 Year Old is a Highland single malt distilled at Tain in Ross-shire. It spends its first 10 years in American white oak ex-bourbon casks, then a further 2 years in ruby Port pipes from Quintas in Portugal's Douro Valley. It is bottled at 46%, non-chill filtered and with no artificial colouring, in a black gift carton.
The nose is sticky dried dark fruit, raisin and cherry with caramel, vanilla taffy, cocoa and a hint of mint. The palate is smooth and rounded, with dried orchard fruit, dark chocolate, gentle oak, roasted malt and orange peel against honey sweetness. The finish is long and warming, with dried fruit and citrus peel fading into baking spice and soft chocolate mint.
