This is a 14-year-old Highland single malt from Glenmorangie, finished in port casks. The distillery was founded in 1843 by William Matheson on the banks of the Dornoch Firth.
The nose combines roasted marshmallow, almond and red fruits with a perfumed note like Parma violets, alongside vanilla, fudge, baked apples, gentle wood smoke, fresh bread and beeswax. The palate is oily and viscous, gently peppery, with more baked apples and fudge, citrus, orange blossom honey and a hint of eucalyptus oil. The finish brings sweet aniseed, leather and oak.
