Glenmorangie – Triple Cask Reserve (75cl, 40%)

Glenmorangie Triple Cask Reserve is a Highland single malt from the distillery at Tain in Ross-shire, bottled at 40% in a 75cl bottle. It is matured in three kinds of wood: ex-bourbon barrels, rye whiskey casks and new charred oak. Glenmorangie has distilled at Tain since 1843, and here the whisky is built from three maturations rather than finished in a single cask type. The nose is typically described as ripe pear, candied orange peel, honeysuckle and grapefruit, with cinnamon, clove and nutmeg. The palate is creamy, with crème brûlée, cherry chocolate, fudge, orange sherbet, maple and marzipan, followed by a lingering finish of vanilla oak and warm spice.
