Glenmorangie – Truffle Oak Reserve (70cl, 55.7%)

Glenmorangie Truffle Oak Reserve is a Highland single malt from Dr Bill Lumsden, bottled at 55.7% vol. in a 70cl bottle. It spent 10 years in ex-bourbon casks and a further 16 years in oak casks from the Black Forest, an idea drawn from the natural balance between those oaks and the truffles that grow beside their roots. The release is limited to 1,000 bottles, each numbered and signed by hand by Dr Lumsden. The nose brings oak, caramel and hazelnuts with light earthy tones. On the palate come peach, passion fruit, melon and pear alongside milk chocolate, truffle and pecans. The finish is long, sweet and nutty.
