Glenmorangie – Tùsail

Glenmorangie Tùsail is a single malt released in spring 2015. Its name is Gaelic for 'original' or 'origin'. It was made from Maris Otter winter barley, a variety once grown mainly for English craft beer and later largely forgotten because other varieties gave higher yields. Dr Bill Lumsden had the grain malted by hand in the traditional way and distilled this single malt from it. The nose is earthy and malty with biscuit and nutty toffee. The palate offers nut caramel, sweet malt and dates, with peach, orange and smoked pear. The finish is long and spicy, with malt and rich chocolate.
