Glenmorangie – X (70cl, 40%)

Glenmorangie X is a single malt from the Glenmorangie distillery in the Scottish Highlands, in a 70cl bottle at 40% abv. The best batches are blended and matured in toasted oak, ex-bourbon and new oak casks. Bartenders use it a good deal, as it mixes well in long drinks and cocktails without overpowering the other ingredients. In the glass it shows an intense golden colour. The nose offers yellow-fleshed fruit such as apricot and peach, with orange peel and mandarin, then dark chocolate and a hint of vanilla. The palate is harmonious, warm and sweet with fruit, and the long finish carries sweet notes alongside chocolate.
