The Glenrothes 12 Year Old is a Speyside single malt Scotch whisky, bottled at 40% in a 75cl bottle. It is matured entirely in sherry-seasoned oak casks and bottled at natural colour, with no artificial tinting.
The distillery stands in the town of Rothes and has its own water source. Its very tall copper pot stills, fitted with boil bulbs, give a clean, fruity new-make spirit.
The nose is honey, ripe melon and nut brittle with a thread of mint, then walnut and apple skin. The palate is soft and creamy, with vanilla, milk chocolate, cinnamon, clove and ripe plum. The finish is short and sweet, with roasted coconut and a gentle floral note.
