Glenrothes 18 Year Old is a Speyside single malt from the Soleo Collection, matured for 18 years exclusively in sherry-seasoned oak casks, a very high proportion of them first-fill. It is bottled at 43% at natural colour, in a 750ml bottle.
It won 98 points and was named Best Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky of 2020 at the Ultimate Spirits Challenge.
Orange oil, vanilla pods and almonds come first on the nose. The palate is sweet pears and vanilla, with ginger and rose water arriving mid-palate. The finish is sweet, with a burst of spice and a slightly peppery edge.
