This Glenrothes Freedom is a Scottish whisky from the 1978 vintage, aged for 41 years and presented in a 70cl bottle. It spent more than four decades maturing in oak casks and has a rich amber colour. The nose offers vanilla, ripe citrus and a little smoked wood. The palate is soft and enveloping, and the finish is long and complex, lightly caramelised and spiced.
