This is a 25-year-old Glenrothes from Speyside, bottled by independent bottler Fruitful Spirits in a 70cl bottle at 48.8% ABV. It comes from a single refill hogshead that yielded 99 bottles, drawn straight from the cask with no added colour or chill-filtration.
The whisky is round, rich and full-flavoured, with tropical fruit, marmalade, toasted oak and cocoa.
The nose offers honeycomb, stewed fruits, orange marmalade and vanilla pod with a touch of light tropical fruit. On the palate there is baked apple, sultanas, citrus peel, silky malt and vanilla cream. The finish is long and warming, with honeyed malt, soft oak, dried fruits and a hint of cocoa.
