Glenrothes – 41 Year Old 1980 Connoisseur Collection (70cl, 41.7%)

This is a 41-year-old Glenrothes single malt from the Connoisseur Collection, distilled in 1980 and bottled at 41.7% in a 70cl bottle. It matured for over four decades in a single sherry cask, and the distillery's fruity, sherried character is part of its profile. The nose has dried figs, raisins, orange zest and gentle spice over soft oak and honey. On the palate come sherry-soaked fruit, dark chocolate, toffee and delicate spice. The finish is long and warming, with rich sherry, subtle oak and mellow sweetness.
